Earlier this year planning approval was achieved by KG Planning for a new storage facility in Horwich. This approval was however only for a five year period. I have subsequently worked closely with the applicant and recently submitted an amended design solution to try and achieve a permanent permission. We applied to replace the temporary condition with the standard commencement condition and also to vary the approved plans condition to reflect the amended design. The applicant attended the Town Council meeting, taking the opportunity to discuss the proposal and answer any questions, resulting in the Town Council voting in favour of the proposal. We have since received confirmation from Bolton Council that they were happy with the proposal so the applicant now has a permanent permission for 48 storage units.
The client had the following to say – “KG planning was instrumental is gaining planning permission for a self storage site in Horwich. This was a particularly challenging project due to the location of the site, flood risk, TPO’s and access. Kate was open and honest and worked in partnership with myself and the council to adapt the planning during the process to ensure we achieved the right result for all parties. I would highly recommend Kate for residential and commercial planning projects!”
