I have just completed a sequential test to support an application for the change of use of a retail unit to a children’s play centre. The specific requirements of a unit needed to accommodate play equipment such as slides and viability issues were two of the key reasons why many of the alternative units on the market and put forward by the LPA could be discounted. After discounting a further small number of units proposed by the LPA for additional scrutiny, the sequential test was accepted and the planning application was subsequently approved.
